Back seal bags are also known as pillow-shaped bags. These bags have rear, top, and bottom seams, giving them a pillow-like shape. Many small food packages often use pillow-shaped bags. The rear seam of a pillow-shaped bag forms a fin-like seal, in which the inner layers of the film are sealed together, and the seam protrudes from the back of the sealed bag. Another type of sealing is the overlap seal, where the inner layer of one side is bonded to the outer layer of the other side, forming a flat seal. Since the "fin" type seal is relatively strong and requires only the inner layer of the packaging material to be heat-sealable, it is widely used. In contrast, the "overlap" type seal is relatively less strong and requires both the inner and outer layers of the bag to be heat-sealable materials, so it is not used as much. The top and bottom seals are formed by bonding the inner layers of the packaging bag.
